Harlem Jets '17
Updated: Jan 21, 2019
The More2Life team first visited Harlem in April of 2017. The event focused on providing children in the 3rd-8th grade with exciting educational, service and athletic activities. In Harlem, we partnered with the Harlem Jets to help over 200 children participate in an M2L event. Harlem was chosen as the first location for this experience thanks to the inspiring humanitarian work of LaVell and Patti Edwards, who helped make high school football possible in Harlem in the early 2000ʼs.
In addition to the services provided for the kids, M2L also conducted a free clinic for youth coaches in the areas. The focus of the coaches clinics is to teach not only the proper and safe fundamentals of the game but also how to coach kids in a positive way with a focus on how words create your legacy as a coach.
The M2L experience has been crafted to help give children the tools that will empower them to succeed in life.
Most importantly, the experience doesn’t end when our team leaves. In fact, that’s just the beginning. Through social media and other methods the kids who attend will be able to participate in a fun and exciting program that incentivizes learning and service for years to come.
If you’d like to help sponsor a child to attend the M2L program we’re happy to accept donations of any amount on our “Donate” page.
Imagine The Possibilities
There is More To Life than we often imagine. Together we can help children develop a growth mindset, including the courage to try—and sometimes fail—but also the determination to always be moving forward in pursuit of their dreams.
